Why does Washington County need this central Non-Profit website?
Currently, there is not one central website that houses all of our 700 plus Non-Profit organizations. Our main focus is to have a place where all non-profits could be centrally located so that anyone could easily search through to find the right Non-Profit to fit their needs, quickly.
Who is behind the operating of this website?
The idea of this website came from Sam Cool. He was part of Leadership Washington County Class XX and he noticed that many of the Non-Profits did not have a place on the Internet and that a central location on the web would be great for many reasons. Sam Cool and Cindy Kalkbrenner of Leadership Washington County created this website in order to link all of the non-profits together under one central website.
How was the website funded?
This website is, in part, privately funded by Cindy Kalkbrenner and Sam Cool. The website has also received partial funding through the Washington County Gaming Commission by way of a grant.
What is the cost to join?
Currently, we are able to offer these services at no charge to both the Non-Profits and Volunteers that wish to join.

How do I know which Non-Profit fits my needs as a volunteer?
Based on the information that you have supplied, your information will be linked to the most appropriate Non-Profit that fits your interests and qualifications. We will coordinate via email.
As a student volunteer, do these hours go toward my high school requirements for volunteer community service?
Each Non-Profit will be clearly listed if they participate with the community service for high school students program.
What is the next step for the website?
Our next step will be to expand our non-profit community interaction. We will provide a private "network behind the scenes" of our website. Within this private network, Non-Profits will be able to collaborate on ideas and share resources. Chat boards will be provided to ask questions to each other and just simply provide a means of communication that currently does not exist today within the non-profit community of Washington County.
We plan to automate the linking of volunteers and non-profits, which is currently being done manually.
Based on suggestions and feedback, we plan to continue to improve this website.
How can I offer suggestions or ask questions?
Click on the "Suggestion Box". All questions and suggestions will be answered and returned via email.
